1. introduction

At Pump Spares Direct (“PSD”), we are committed to supplying high-quality OEM and aftermarket parts. As an independent distributor, we do not manufacture the goods we sell; therefore, all products are covered strictly by the warranty terms and conditions provided by the respective manufacturer (OEM) or aftermarket supplier.

Our role is to facilitate the warranty process on your behalf, acting as the liaison between you and the manufacturer to ensure your claim is handled fairly. However, PSD is not the warrantor and does not determine the outcome of warranty claims. For commercial and trade transactions, our liability is limited strictly to the remedies provided by the manufacturer.

2. coverage & exclusions

Warranty coverage generally applies to defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. It does not cover failures caused by external factors, environmental conditions, or operational errors.

Specifically, manufacturers will generally reject warranty claims where failure is caused by dry running, cavitation, water hammer, chemical incompatibility, abrasive wear, electrical supply faults (including voltage spikes, phase failure, or lack of overload protection), incorrect installation, misalignment, or modification of the unit. The Customer is responsible for ensuring the goods are installed by qualified personnel and operated within the manufacturer’s specified performance curves.

3. how we use your information

To lodge a warranty claim, the Customer must first contact PSD to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number. Goods returned to our facility or our supplier’s warehouse without a valid RMA will be rejected.

When lodging a claim, the Customer must provide valid proof of purchase, a detailed description of the fault, photos of the installation, and, where requested, operational data.

The Customer acts as the bailee for the goods and is responsible for the cost of freight and insurance to return the items to PSD or the manufacturer’s nominated location for inspection.

4. inspection fees & outcomes

Once the manufacturer has inspected the goods, they will issue a determination. If the claim is accepted as a warrantable defect, the manufacturer will repair the item, provide a replacement, or issue a credit at their discretion, and PSD will pass this remedy on to the Customer immediately.

However, if the claim is rejected (for example, due to evidence of misuse, dry running, or normal wear and tear), the warranty is void. In such cases, the Customer acknowledges that they are liable for any "strip and quote," testing, or inspection fees charged by the manufacturer.

The Customer is also responsible for return freight costs if they wish to have the rejected item returned to them.

5. limitation of liability

PSD accepts no liability for any indirect or consequential losses arising from a warranty claim, regardless of the outcome. This exclusion strictly covers loss of production, downtime, crane hire, liquid haulage, damage to other equipment, and labour costs associated with the removal or re-installation of the goods. Our liability is strictly limited to the replacement or refund of the specific part supplied, as determined by the manufacturer
