How we confirm the exact part: Part numbers on this page are as printed in Gorman-Rupp manual OM-07578-01, parts list for serial numbers 1851882 and up. Pumps with earlier serial numbers, an “N” serial suffix or a different build can use different parts, so send the serial number or a nameplate photo and we’ll confirm the right part before we quote. Engine and power-unit parts are not covered on this page.
Service Intervals & When to Replace
- Daily: check general condition (temperature, noise, vibration, leaks) and pump performance (gauges, speed, flow).
- Lubrication: check bearing and seal-cavity lubrication weekly; replace the oil annually (Gorman-Rupp specifies SAE No. 30 non-detergent oil where oil is used).
- Every six months: inspect front impeller clearance (wear plate) and rear clearance (seal plate) and adjust or replace worn parts.
- Annually: inspect the check valve, bearings, shaft deflection and pump-to-driver alignment; clean the pressure relief valve.
- New applications: inspect wearing parts after the first 250 hours to set your wear rate. Intervals assume about 4,000 hours a year of intermittent duty; shorten them for abrasive or continuous duty.
Models
One page covers the PA6C60 pump end across its engine and drive builds. The pump end, priming chamber and check valve parts are common; engine parts are not listed. The full model code is on the pump nameplate.

Troubleshooting
Pump fails to prime
Likely cause: Discharge check valve contaminated, damaged or not seating, an air leak in the suction line, a worn seal or gasket, a damaged air compressor or broken belt, or a clogged strainer. Action: Clean or replace the check valve, correct leaks, check pump vacuum and replace the worn seal or gasket, repair the compressor or belts, and clean the strainer.
Low flow or pressure
Likely cause: Eductor or strainer clogged, impeller or other wearing parts worn or damaged, or suction lift too high. Action: Clean the eductor and strainer, replace worn parts and check the impeller is centred and turns freely, and reduce suction lift.
Pump clogs frequently
Likely cause: Discharge flow too slow, a clogged or binding check valve, or liquid too thick. Action: Open the discharge valve fully, run at full governed speed, clean the check valve and dilute if possible.
Pump requires too much power
Likely cause: Pump speed too high, discharge head too low, liquid too thick, or a frozen pump or jack shaft bearing. Action: Check driver output, adjust the discharge valve, dilute if possible, and check and replace bearings.
