Grundfos CM / CME Pumps
Spare Parts for CM / CME Range Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine and compatible spare parts for the Grundfos CM and CME horizontal multistage pumps, used across Australia for washdown, water treatment, temperature control, OEM skids and pressure boosting. The fixed speed CM (cast iron with 304 stainless, or 316 stainless wetted parts, plus self-priming versions) and the variable speed CME share the same modular pump end, so tick what you need and we’ll match the exact kit to your nameplate (e.g. CM 10-3).
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Grundfos CM service kits are matched to pump size, material version and shaft seal code, so your nameplate model is all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work out the kit for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Shaft Seal & Gasket Kit | Mechanical shaft seal with its O-rings and gaskets, matched to your seal code (AQQE: SiC/SiC/EPDM on CM-A; AQQV: SiC/SiC/FKM on CM-G and CME). Replace at the first sign of leakage or whenever the pump is opened. | |
| Impeller & Spacing Pipe Kit | Impellers and spacing pipes for your size and stage count, e.g. CM 10-3. Fit it when flow or pressure has dropped away from wear or debris damage. | |
| Neck Ring Repair Kit | The neck rings that seal each impeller eye. Worn neck rings cause internal leakage and lost pressure; renew them at any rebuild. | |
| Motor Bearing Kit | Motor ball bearings with the spring, O-ring, cover plate and gasket, matched to the motor frame (MG or MGE). Replace if the motor is noisy or running hot. | |
| Drain Plug Kit | Drain plug and O-ring in EPDM or FKM. Replace if weeping or damaged. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Chambers | Individual stage chambers in 304 or 316 stainless. Replace if cracked, eroded or distorted. | |
| Replacement Motor | Standard Grundfos MG motor for the fixed speed CM, single or three phase, matched to your kW (0.3 to 7.5 kW across the range). | |
| Replacement E-Motor / Drive | The MGE motor with integrated frequency converter fitted to the CME, matched to your kW and supply. Replace if the drive electronics or motor have failed. | |
| Pressure Sensor | The pressure sensor used for constant-pressure control on CME pumps. Replace if the pump reports a sensor fault or the reading is wrong. | |
| Pump Housing & Sleeve | Inlet and outlet housing and outer sleeve, matched to your size, material version and thread connection. | |
| Non-Return Valve Kit | Non-return valve parts for booster installations. Replace if the pump spins backwards or the system loses pressure when stopped. | |
| Complete Replacement Pump | When a rebuild doesn’t stack up, we quote a like-for-like CM or CME from the model on your nameplate. | |
How we confirm the exact part: Grundfos CM and CME kits depend on pump size, stage count, material version, rubber parts and shaft seal code. Your nameplate carries all of it, in the model (e.g. CM 10-3 A-R-A-E-AQQE) and the product number. Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the correct part and price for your exact pump.
Models
Spare parts are available for every CM and CME size in the current Grundfos Australia range, including the CM-A, CM-G and self-priming CM-SP versions. The number after the dash on your nameplate (e.g. CM 10-3) is the number of impellers.

CM-A (cast iron + 304): −20 °C to +90 °C, 10 bar, AQQE seal. CM-G (316): −20 °C to +90 °C (+120 °C on request), 16 bar, AQQV seal. CM-SP self-priming (304): 0 to +60 °C, suction lift to 4 m, AQQE seal, single phase. CME (316): −20 °C to +90 °C, 16 bar, AQQV seal, IE5 MGE motor with integrated frequency converter, 50/60 Hz. All IP55; fixed speed CM motors 50 Hz, single or three phase.
Troubleshooting
Pump will not start
Likely cause: no supply, a tripped motor protection or fuse, or a seized pump (often scale or debris after standing idle). Action: check the supply and reset the protection; with the power isolated, check the shaft turns freely. A pump that won’t turn needs inspection of the impellers and seal.
Fault or alarm on the CME display
Likely cause: a supply fault, a sensor signal fault, dry running, or a drive or motor fault. Action: read the alarm code on the display or with Grundfos GO; check the supply and the sensor cable. A persistent drive or motor fault usually means a replacement E-motor.
Low flow or pressure
Likely cause: worn neck rings or impellers, air in the pump, a blocked inlet, or wrong rotation. Action: vent and prime the pump; clean the inlet; confirm rotation; if output still falls short, fit the neck ring repair kit or the impeller and spacing pipe kit.
Self-priming pump will not prime
Likely cause: an air leak on the suction line, a suction lift beyond the pump’s limit, or the pump not filled before start. Action: fill the pump through the priming plug; check suction joints and the foot valve; keep the lift within 4 m for CM-SP models.
Noise or vibration
Likely cause: cavitation (insufficient inlet pressure), air in the pump, or worn motor bearings. Action: check inlet pressure and pipework; vent the pump; replace the motor bearing kit if the motor is noisy.
Leaking at the shaft seal
Likely cause: worn or damaged seal faces, often from dry running or abrasive particles. Action: replace the shaft seal and gasket kit. Never run a CM dry: the seal relies on the pumped liquid for cooling.
Pump runs backwards or loses pressure when stopped
Likely cause: a leaking or missing non-return valve. Action: repair or replace the non-return valve. Reverse spin can damage the seal.
