Grundfos SE Pumps
Spare Parts for SE Range Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine and compatible spare parts for the Grundfos SE heavy-duty open S-tube sewage pump, used across Australia in council sewage pump stations, stormwater and industrial wastewater duties, built for dry or submerged installation with a cooling jacket. Every SE from the 10 kW SE.100 to the 63 kW range 56 shares the same service build (open S-tube impeller, double shaft seal and sensor-protected motor), so tick what you need and we’ll match the exact kit to your nameplate (e.g. SE.100.150.4.52H).
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Grundfos SE service kits are matched to the hydraulic size, motor and build, so your nameplate model is all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work out the kit for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Shaft Seal Kit | The double mechanical shaft seal set (primary and secondary seals with their O-rings and fitting parts) for your pump size. Replace at the first moisture alarm or if water shows in the seal chamber oil. | |
| Impeller Kit | The open S-tube impeller with its fixing parts, matched to your motor and hydraulic code. Replace if worn, cracked or eroded, or if duty has dropped away after a clearance reset. | |
| Wear Ring / Wear Plate Kit | The suction-side wear parts that hold the impeller clearance. An opened-up clearance costs flow and efficiency and makes the pump rag more; replace when the clearance can no longer be reset. | |
| O-ring & Gasket Kit | O-rings and gaskets for the pump housing, seal chamber and oil plugs. Renew whenever the pump is opened. | |
| Cable Kit | Replacement power and sensor cable (15 m standard on 9–30 kW, 10 m on range 56; other lengths and screened cable for VSD use to order) with the cable entry seals. Fit if the cable is cut, crushed or wicking water. | |
| Sensor Kit | Moisture switch, leakage switch and motor temperature sensors (thermistors or thermal switches, by size). Replace a failed sensor so the pump stays protected. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Auto-Coupling & Guide Rail Fittings | Auto-coupling base, guide claw and upper guide rail brackets, matched to the discharge size (DN100–DN300). Adaptors are available to fit newer pumps to older S-pump auto-couplings. | |
| Cooling Jacket Parts | Cooling jacket and its seals for dry-installed or partly submerged pumps. Replace if the jacket is damaged or leaking; a blocked jacket leads to overheating. | |
| Lifting Chain | Lifting chain and shackles sized to the pump weight. Always lift by the chain, never the cable. | |
| Seal Chamber Oil | Fresh oil for the seal chamber at every seal change or inspection. Water or emulsified oil means the shaft seal has failed. | |
| Motor / Stator Service | Motor bearings, stator rewind or a replacement motor unit matched to your kW, poles and voltage code. | |
| Pump Protection Module | Protection module that reads the pump’s moisture, leakage and temperature sensors and stops the pump on a fault. We match it to your sensor version and control panel. | |
| Complete Replacement Pump | When a rebuild doesn’t stack up, we quote a like-for-like SE from the model on your nameplate. | |
How we confirm the exact part: Grundfos SE kits depend on the frame, discharge size, motor power and poles. On 9–30 kW pumps the model reads type, discharge, kW × 10, poles and range (e.g. SE.100.150.4.52H); on range 56 pumps it reads type, range and hydraulic code, kW × 10, poles, voltage and discharge (e.g. SE.56H.280.4.50D.150). Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the correct part and price for your exact pump.
Models
Spare parts are available for every SE size in the current Grundfos Australia range, plus earlier generations from the nameplate. The power code on your nameplate is kW × 10 (e.g. SE.100.150.4 = 15 kW).

All sizes: installation dry or submerged with cooling jacket, liquid temperature 0 °C to +40 °C, pH 6.5–14, 50 Hz, explosion-proof versions on request; free passage on 9–30 kW sizes is confirmed from the model. 9–30 kW: 3 × 380–415/660–690 V, moisture switch, leakage switch and PTC thermistors, 15 m cable. Range 56: 380–415 V DOL or star-delta, moisture switch, leakage switch and thermal switches, 10 m screened cable. Closed S-tube versions: see Grundfos SE1; SuperVortex: see Grundfos SEV.
Troubleshooting
Pump blocked or ragging
Likely cause: rags and wipes caught on the impeller leading edge, or an opened-up clearance between the impeller and the wear ring. Action: isolate the power, lift the pump and clear the inlet and impeller; check and reset the impeller clearance and replace the wear ring if it is worn. Frequent ragging on a worn pump is the usual sign a wear ring kit is due.
Moisture alarm or leaking at the shaft seal
Likely cause: worn seal faces letting water into the oil chamber, often from grit, dry running or age; the moisture or leakage switch trips the pump before the motor floods. Action: check the oil in the seal chamber: water or emulsified oil means the seal has failed. Fit the shaft seal kit, renew the O-rings and refill with fresh oil. Don’t reset and run on a moisture alarm.
Thermal trip or overheating
Likely cause: an overload from a blocked or worn impeller, a phase fault, too many starts per hour, a dry-installed pump with a blocked cooling jacket. Action: check the voltage on all phases and the motor current against the nameplate; clear the hydraulic end; check level settings so the pump stays submerged or, on dry installs, that the cooling jacket is clear. Repeated trips need a motor inspection.
Low flow or head
Likely cause: wrong rotation, air trapped in the pump, a partly blocked discharge or non-return valve, or wear at the impeller and wear ring. Action: check rotation on three-phase pumps; vent the pump and clear the discharge, valve and auto-coupling; if output still falls short, replace the worn hydraulic parts.
Noise or vibration
Likely cause: solids caught in the impeller, a damaged impeller, worn motor bearings, or the pump not seated properly on the auto-coupling. Action: clear and inspect the impeller; check that the pump sits fully on the auto-coupling base and the guide rails are straight; worn bearings need a motor overhaul.
Pump will not start
Likely cause: no supply, a tripped motor protection, a failed level switch, or a seized pump. Action: check the supply, controller and level switches and reset the protection; with the power isolated, check the impeller turns freely. A seized pump needs inspection of the hydraulic end and bearings.
Damaged cable or water in the cable entry
Likely cause: a cut, crushed or chafed cable from lifting or debris, or a perished cable entry seal. Action: isolate the pump and test the insulation resistance; never splice a submersible cable in the well. Replace the cable kit and cable entry seal, and lift the pump by its chain, never the cable.
