Masport HD2 Vacuum Pumps
Spare Parts for Masport HD2V and HD2F Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine OEM spare parts for the Masport HD2 rotary vane vacuum pump, built as the HD2V with a four-way valve for vacuum and pressure or the HD2F for vacuum only, and fitted to septic, grease trap and portable toilet tankers and slide-in units across Australia. Replacement Parts Kit 14652, vane pack 975536, the four-way valve parts, gaskets, shims, drippers and the remote oil tank are all coded in the Masport HD2 parts lists, so tick what you need and we’ll match them to your nameplate, such as HD2V.
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Masport HD2 parts are matched to the build on the nameplate (V vacuum/pressure or F vacuum only) and the serial number, so those details are all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| HD2 Replacement Parts Kit | Masport’s HD2 rebuild set: vane pack, bearings, shaft shims, oil seals, end cover shims, and valve and flange gaskets. Not the HXL2 kit (14637), so check the tag before ordering. | |
| Vane Pack (item 16 HD2V, item 17 HD2F) | Radius-edged vanes for the HD2 rotor; fit them radius to the bore and chamfer into the slot. Change the set when a vane is down to 1 11/16" (42.9 mm), or if any are bent, frayed or out of parallel. | |
| Masport All Seasons Pump Oil | The non-detergent oil Masport blends for its vane pumps, fed from the HD2 oil tank through two drippers. Check the tank every load and top up roughly every 10 hours of running. | |
| Masport Flushing Fluid | Drawn in through the flushing port at 15"Hg via a Flushing Kit to wash out carry-over and inhibit rust. Flush the HD2 weekly and any time liquid has got past the traps. | |
| Wear & Consumable Parts | ||
| Oil Seal 25 x 40 x 8 (item 3 HD2V, item 4 HD2F) | Shaft seals in both end covers, as the HD2 can be driven from either end. Press in spring side facing the bearing, grease the lip, and renew them at every rebuild or when oil leaks at a shaft. | |
| Shim End Cover .001" and .002" (items 13, 14) | Shim gaskets under each end cover that set the HD2’s end float to 0.003–0.005". Note the type and count removed and refit the same, then confirm end float with a dial gauge. | |
| Gasket – Valve (item 5, HD2V) | Seals the four-way valve body to the cylinder ports on the HD2V. Renew both whenever the valve is lifted off, as an air leak here robs the pump of both vacuum and pressure. | |
| Gasket – Flange (item 17.17 HD2V, item 1 HD2F) | Seals the 1½" port flanges (and the blank flanges on the HD2F). Replace whenever a flange is unbolted or the joint hisses under vacuum. | |
| Valve Cap Gasket & Wave Washer (items 17.3, 17.4, HD2V) | The gasket seals the cap on top of the four-way valve and the wave washer preloads the spool. Renew both when the valve is serviced or the cap leaks air. | |
| Non-Return Valve (item 17.11, HD2V) | The check valve in the HD2V valve body. A blocked or sticking non-return valve that will not open fully is one of the listed causes of poor performance, so inspect it when output drops. | |
| Dripper (item 20.8 HD2V, item 19.8 HD2F) | Sight-feed oilers on the remote dripper housing that meter oil to each end cover, set to at least 7 drops a minute on the HD2. Replace a dripper that drifts or a hardened, split oil line. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Rotor Assembly (item 21 HD2V, item 20 HD2F) | The double-ended HD2 rotor, balanced with its stub shafts as one piece. Replace if cracked or if burrs in the vane slots cannot be dressed out with a flat file. | |
| Cylinder (item 18 HD2V, item 23 HD2F) | The 6.77" bore housing, which differs between the valve and vacuum-only builds. Bore and hone if scored deeper than .005"; replace if cracked or beyond the 6.81" limit. | |
| End Cover (item 19 HD2V, item 18 HD2F) | Holds a bearing, oil seal and oil-line fitting at each end. Lap minor rotor marks; resurface or replace a cover grooved deeper than .005" or with a damaged bearing bore. | |
| Valve Body & Spool (items 17.1, 17.2, HD2V) | The four-way valve that switches the HD2V between vacuum, neutral and pressure with a 90° turn of the handle. Replace a cracked body or a spool worn enough to leak across ports. | |
| Valve Handle & Indicator Washer (items 17.14, 17.15, HD2V) | The handle turns the spool and the reversible indicator washer shows which way gives vacuum or pressure. Replace a bent handle or a worn washer, and check its orientation matches the plumbing. | |
| Oil Tank & Dripper Housing (items 20.6, 20.7 HD2V; 19.6, 19.7 HD2F) | The remote 1.5 quart (about 1.4 L) oil tank and the housing that carries the two drippers. Replace a cracked tank or a housing whose dripper seats leak. | |
How we confirm the exact part: Item numbers and codes are as printed in the HD2V and HD2F parts lists of the Masport HD1, HD2 & HD3 owner/operator manual; note that item numbers differ between the two builds. Your model tag gives the build (for example HD2V or HD2F) and the serial number, which also tells an HD2 apart from the HXL2 it replaced (different kit, and HXL2 parts changed at serial Q06128). Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the right parts for your pump.
Models
The build letter (V or F) and the serial number are on the Masport pump model tag (item 8) riveted to the HD2. HD2V has the four-way valve on top; HD2F has plain port flanges for vacuum only.

Codes as printed in the HD2V and HD2F parts lists and the Replacement Parts Kit table of the Masport HD1, HD2 & HD3 owner/operator manual (90357). Bearings and the shaft shims behind them carry no separate code and are supplied in Kit 14652; the shims are symmetrical but not reusable. Other HD2 figures from the manual: 1,250–1,750 rpm input; 2.7 hp at 1,250 rpm and 3.6 hp at 1,750 rpm when pulling 27"Hg, and 5.4 hp at 15 psi pressure at 1,750 rpm; bore 6.77" (rebore limit 6.81"); end float 0.003–0.005"; at least 7 drops a minute per dripper at 15"Hg or more; 1½" port flanges (968159) and 1½" minimum plumbing I.D.; pressure relief set below 10 psi. The HD2F closes its spare ports with blank flanges 975476. Air flow figures are on the Masport HD2V brochure.
Troubleshooting
HD2 overheating
Likely cause: no oil or the wrong oil, drippers starved below 7 drops a minute, or the pump turning faster than 1,750 rpm. Action: refill the remote tank with Masport or approved oil, prime the oil lines, reset the drippers and correct the drive speed.
Running hot under pressure or high vacuum
Likely cause: working above the relief settings, a blocked exhaust or inlet filter, or plumbing smaller than 1½" I.D. Action: set vacuum relief to 20"Hg or less and pressure relief below 10 psi, clear the filter and exhaust, and upsize undersized lines.
Rotor jammed or will not turn
Likely cause: damaged vanes or bearings, debris drawn into the cylinder, or a fault in the PTO, hydraulic or belt drive. Action: check the drive first, then pull an end cover and inspect the vanes and bearings; rebuild with Kit 14652 where they are damaged.
Frozen solid in winter
Likely cause: water left inside after the last job has turned to ice in the bore. Action: let the pump thaw, flush it with Masport Flushing Fluid and then run it briefly to coat the bore with fresh oil.
Weak vacuum or pressure
Likely cause: the four-way valve sitting in neutral or part-open, vanes worn under 1 11/16", or worn shaft seals. Action: turn the handle fully to vacuum or pressure, measure and replace the vanes, and renew the oil seals.
Loads slower than it used to
Likely cause: a non-return valve that will not open fully, leaks in the tank or pipework, a collapsed hose or liquid in the pump. Action: free or replace the non-return valve (item 17.11), leak-test the system, swap the collapsed hose and flush the pump.
