Masport HD75 and HXL75 Vacuum Pumps
Spare Parts for Masport HD75 and HXL75 Air-Cooled Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine OEM spare parts for the Masport HD75 and its predecessor the HXL75, the air-cooled 3"-flanged rotary vane vacuum pump on Australian vacuum tankers for septic and sewage pump-out, industrial liquid waste and hydro-excavation. Rebuild kit 14604 and vane pack 975539 suit both, so tick the parts you need and we’ll match the rest to the model tag on your HD75V or HXL75V.
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Masport HD75 parts are matched to the build on the nameplate (V vacuum/pressure or F vacuum only, plus CW or CCW rotation where relevant) and the serial number, so those details are all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Replacement Parts Kit (Rebuild Kit) | The Masport rebuild set shared by the HD75 and HXL75: vane pack, bearings and bearing spacers, oil seals, end cover shims and O-rings, valve and flange gaskets and O-ring, and the oil pump drive coupler with its tension pin. | |
| Vane Pack (item 33) | Radiused vanes, fitted with the radius against the cylinder wall. Inspect yearly and discard below 2 3/8" usable height, or if bent, out of parallel or frayed; unmonitored wear leads to rotor and bore damage and broken vanes. | |
| Masport All Seasons Pump Oil | The non-detergent oil Masport formulates for its pumps, in 1 gal (13980), 4 gal (13983) and 12 gal (13984). Approved rotary compressor or turbine oils can be substituted; never motor, transmission or vegetable oil. | |
| Masport Flushing Fluid | Cleans debris out of the HD75 and inhibits rust when drawn in through the flushing port at about 15"Hg: 13989 (1 gal), 13991 (4 gal), 13992 (12 gal). Weekly, or more often if traps let carry-over through. | |
| Wear & Consumable Parts | ||
| Oil Seal (item 3) | Two shaft seals in the end covers and one in the valve cap. Change them at every rebuild, spring side facing the bearing bore; worn shaft seals are one of the listed causes of lost vacuum. | |
| Bearing and Bearing Spacer (HXL75 items 28.2, 28.1) | Support the rotor shaft in the end covers. Renew if blued or rough, or if the spacer shows contact with the bore; press only on the inner race. HD75 tables list them only within kit 14604. | |
| End Cover O-Ring (item 4) | The large O-ring that seals each end cover to the cylinder. Included in kit 14604; fit new ones every time a cover comes off. | |
| End Cover Shims (items 11, 12) | Shim gaskets that set end float at 0.008–0.010". Hold them in place with a film of oil on the cylinder face, refit the stack you removed and recheck the float after assembly. | |
| Valve & Valve Cap Gaskets, Flange O-Ring (items 15, 13, 14) | Seal the four-way valve to the cylinder, the valve cap, and the 3" flanges. Renew whenever the valve or flanges are disturbed, or if air leaks show at those joints. | |
| Check Valve Flap (item 31) | The non-return flap in the valve. A flap that sticks or will not open fully cuts performance; replace it if torn, distorted or fouled. | |
| Oil Pump Coupler & Roll Pin (items 42, 18) | Link the rotor shaft to the oil pump; both come in kit 14604. Renew if worn or sheared, since the vanes and bearings rely on a steady oil feed. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Rotor Assembly (item 36) | The balanced rotor with integral stub shafts, which Masport says must never be removed. Lightly file burrs from the slot edges at a rebuild; replace the assembly if slots or shafts are damaged. | |
| Cylinder (item 32) | The finned air-cooled body. If scoring is deeper than .005" or corrugation can be felt, it is rebored from 9.25" to no more than 9.29" and the seal gap reset; beyond that the cylinder is renewed. | |
| End Cover (item 34) | Carries the bearing and oil seal at each end and takes the thrust screws. Resurface if rotor contact has cut grooves deeper than .005". On the HXL75 the oil pump end cover is coded separately. | |
| Four-Way Valve Body, Spool & Cap (items 37, 38, 39) | Switches between vacuum and pressure as the handle (969827) turns through 90°, with indicator washer 569724. The HXL75V uses valve assembly 968753: body 969751, spool 968804, cap 968035. | |
| Oil Pump (item 43) | Feeds oil automatically to the cylinder and both end covers from a reservoir mounted above it. Maintenance free on the HD75; the HXL75 pump must be bled at the bleed screw before start-up. | |
| Vacuum Relief Valve (item 17) | Limits working vacuum so a tripped trap or collapsed hose can’t overheat the pump. On air-cooled models set it no higher than 20"Hg at sea level, less 1"Hg per 1,000 ft of elevation. | |
How we confirm the exact part: item numbers and codes are as printed in the Masport HD75 owner/operator manual, with HXL75 codes taken from the HXL75V exploded view. The model tag (e.g. HD75V) and serial number set the build, and HXL75 parts changed at serial PS0585 (the oil line elbows), so send both. Tick what you need and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the exact parts for your pump.
Models
Look for the build, such as HD75V or HXL75V, on the pump model tag fixed to the oil pump cover; the same tag carries the rotation arrow. Add the serial number, as HXL75 pumps below PS0585 differ in small fittings.

Codes as printed in the Masport HD4, HD75, HD75W, VIPER & HD400W owner/operator manual (updated 19 June 2025) and the HXL75V view in the HXL5W–HXL400W manual; CW and CCW pumps use the same codes. Vanes are scrapped at 2 3/8" usable height. Manual figures for HD75/HXL75: 1,100–1,250 rpm (6.9–12.3 hp on vacuum across that range), 3" flanges (969329), 2½" minimum pipe I.D., bore 9.25" (9.29" maximum after remachining), seal gap 0.005", end float 0.008–0.010". Oil: non-detergent rotary compressor or turbine oil.
Troubleshooting
HD75 overheating
Likely cause: no oil or the wrong oil, rpm above 1,250, or prolonged running beyond the rated vacuum or pressure. Action: restore the oil feed with a correct grade, slow the drive and keep vacuum at or below the 20"Hg relief setting.
Hot pump with a dirty body or choked inlet
Likely cause: mud packed between the cooling fins, a blocked inlet filter, an obstructed exhaust or pipework under 2½" I.D. Action: wash down the cylinder fins, clean the filter, clear the exhaust and resize undersized plumbing.
Rotor seized or won’t rotate
Likely cause: damaged vanes or bearings, foreign material or ice in the pump, or a fault in the drive. Action: check the drive first, then open the pump and rebuild with kit 14604 if vanes or bearings have failed.
Low vacuum or pressure output
Likely cause: worn vanes, worn shaft seals, or the valve handle not fully over to vacuum or pressure. Action: measure the vanes against 2 3/8", renew the oil seals (item 3) and set the handle fully over.
Weak performance with the pump in good order
Likely cause: leaks in the tank, hoses or fittings, a collapsed hose, a check valve flap that sticks, or drive speed under 1,100 rpm. Action: find and fix leaks, free or renew the flap (item 31) and lift the drive speed.
Loss of performance after liquid ingestion
Likely cause: fluid has reached the pump past the traps. Action: flush with Masport Flushing Fluid and service the shut-off and moisture traps before the next load.
