Masport HD75W and HXL75W Vacuum Pumps
Spare Parts for Masport HD75W and HXL75W Liquid-Cooled Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine OEM spare parts for the Masport HD75W and older HXL75W, the liquid-cooled rotary vane vacuum pump with a water-jacketed cylinder, often plumbed into the truck’s engine coolant on heavy-duty septic, grease trap and industrial liquid waste tankers in Australia. Kit 14604, vane pack 975539, the manifold and base plate gaskets and every jacket and valve part are listed below, so tick what you need and we’ll match it to your HD75WV or HXL75WV model tag.
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Masport HD75W parts are matched to the build on the nameplate (V vacuum/pressure or F vacuum only, plus CW or CCW rotation where relevant) and the serial number, so those details are all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Replacement Parts Kit (Rebuild Kit) | Kit 14604 covers the liquid-cooled pumps as well: vane pack, bearings, bearing spacers, oil seals, end cover shims, end cover O-rings, valve and flange gaskets and O-ring, oil pump drive coupler and tension pin. | |
| Vane Pack (item 38) | The radius-edged vanes that seal against the jacketed bore; fit the radius to the cylinder wall. Scrap them once they are 2 3/8" or shorter, or show bent, concave or frayed edges, and check them at least once a year. | |
| Masport All Seasons Pump Oil | Non-detergent oil gravity-fed from a reservoir mounted above the oil pump: 13980 (1 gal), 13983 (4 gal), 13984 (12 gal). Grades 32 and 46 suit winter and 68 and 100 summer if an approved substitute is used. | |
| Masport Flushing Fluid | Drawn through the valve flushing port to wash out carry-over and protect the bore from rust: 13989 (1 gal), 13991 (4 gal), 13992 (12 gal). Flush at the end of the working week, or at once after any liquid carry-over. | |
| Wear & Consumable Parts | ||
| Oil Seal (item 3) | One in each end cover and one in the valve cap, the same seal as the air-cooled HD75. Fit new at every overhaul with the spring side facing the bearing bore; worn seals lose vacuum and let oil reach the bearings. | |
| Bearing and Bearing Spacer (HXL75W items 32.2, 32.1) | Locate the rotor in the end covers. Replace if discoloured, rough or if the spacer has touched the housing bore, pressing on the inner race only; the HD75W table lists them only inside kit 14604. | |
| End Cover O-Ring (item 4) | Seals each end cover to the cylinder (listed as 9 1/4" x 1/8"). Supplied in kit 14604; always renew when an end cover is removed. | |
| End Cover Shims (items 12, 13) | Set the wider end float of the liquid-cooled pump, 0.012–0.014". Keep the original stack together, refit it and recheck the float with a dial indicator after reassembly. | |
| Valve & Valve Cap Gaskets, Flange O-Ring (items 16, 14, 15) | Seal the four-way valve to the manifold, the valve cap and the 3" flanges (O-ring 568222). Renew whenever the valve or flanges come off or a joint leaks air. | |
| Manifold & Base Plate Gaskets (items 17, 18) | Seal the manifold to the top of the jacketed cylinder and the base plate underneath. Fit new ones whenever these are removed, or if coolant or air leaks show at either joint. | |
| Check Valve Flap (item 35) | The non-return flap in the manifold. If it sticks shut or will not open fully the pump loses performance; renew it when torn, swollen or fouled. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Rotor Assembly (item 41) | The one-piece balanced rotor and stub shafts. Never remove the stub shafts; replace the whole assembly if slots or shafts are damaged after a vane failure. | |
| Cylinder (item 36) | The water-jacketed body, with the coolant inlet near the base. Rebore from 9.25" up to 9.29" if scored past .005" and reset the 0.008" seal gap; otherwise fit a new cylinder. | |
| End Cover (item 39) | Hold the bearings, oil seals and thrust screws at each end. Resurface if scored deeper than .005" by rotor contact; the HXL75W has a separately coded oil pump end cover. | |
| Manifold & Base Plate (items 34, 37) | The manifold carries the valve and flap on top of the cylinder; the base plate closes the underside. Same codes on HD75W and HXL75W; replace if cracked, corroded or distorted. | |
| Four-Way Valve Body, Spool & Cap (items 42, 43, 44) | Selects vacuum or pressure through a 90° turn of the handle (969827) with indicator washer 569724. HXL75WV: valve assembly 968753 (body 969751, spool 968804, cap 968035). | |
| Oil Pump & Coupler (items 48, 47) | Automatic oil feed to the cylinder and both end covers. No adjustment on the HD75W; on the HXL75W bleed the pump at its bleed screw after service before running. | |
How we confirm the exact part: item numbers and codes are as printed in the Masport HD75W owner/operator manual and the HXL75WV view in the HXL manual. The model tag (e.g. HD75WV) and serial number set the build, and some HXL75W fittings changed at serial PS0585, so please include both. Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the correct parts.
Models
Your build, such as HD75WV or HXL75WV, is shown on the pump model tag on the oil pump cover alongside the rotation arrow. Include the serial number too, since HXL75W pumps below PS0585 used different oil line elbows.

Vane usable height limit 2 3/8". Manual figures for HD75W/HXL75W: 1,100–1,250 rpm (6.9–12.3 hp on vacuum), 3" flanges (969329), 2½" minimum pipe I.D., bore 9.25", seal gap 0.008", end float 0.012–0.014", relief valve at 25"Hg maximum continuous at sea level. Temperature gauge parts (HD75WV items 50.1–50.6): thermometer 21076, tee 27463, nipple 30254, hose insert 27101, elbow 27010, plug 27301. Lubricate with a non-detergent rotary compressor oil such as Masport All Seasons Oil.
Troubleshooting
HD75W temperature climbing
Likely cause: low or incorrect oil, drive speed over 1,250 rpm, or working beyond the 25"Hg continuous vacuum limit. Action: check the oil reservoir and grade, slow the drive and confirm the relief valve setting; also compare the pump gauge with the truck’s and check coolant hoses for blockage.
Pump hot with a choked system
Likely cause: a dirty inlet filter, an obstructed exhaust, or pipe and hose smaller than 2½" I.D. Action: clean the filter, clear the exhaust path and upsize any restriction in the plumbing.
Rotor locked up
Likely cause: a broken vane or failed bearing, foreign matter or frozen water inside the pump, or a drive-line problem. Action: free the drive and inspect it, then strip the pump and rebuild with kit 14604 where vanes or bearings have failed.
Vacuum slow to build
Likely cause: vanes worn under 2 3/8", tired shaft seals, or the four-way valve left in neutral or part-open. Action: measure and renew the vanes (item 38), fit new oil seals (item 3) and move the handle fully to vacuum.
Poor output with no fault inside the pump
Likely cause: tank or hose leaks, a collapsed suction hose, a check valve flap stuck part-closed, or drive speed under 1,100 rpm. Action: leak-check the system, renew the collapsed hose or flap (item 35) and raise the drive speed into range.
Performance lost after a load came over
Likely cause: liquid has passed the traps and entered the pump. Action: flush the pump through with Masport Flushing Fluid and check the primary shut-off and scrubber traps.
