Spare Parts List

✓ Tick the parts you need. Masport HXL2 parts are matched to the build on the nameplate (V vacuum/pressure or F vacuum only) and the serial number, so those details are all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.

SelectWear / Service ItemFunction & when to replace
Common Service Kits
Replacement Parts Kit 14637Masport’s rebuild set for the HXL2: vane pack, bearings, bearing spacers, oil seals, end cover shims, valve and flange gaskets. Order it whenever the pump is opened for vanes or bearings; earlier serials take kit 14617.
Vane Pack (item 7 F / 27 V)The full set of sliding vanes that seal against the cylinder bore. Measure at least once a year and renew when any vane is under 1 5/8" usable height, bent, worn concave or frayed on the tip.
Masport All Seasons Blend Pump OilNon-detergent rotary compressor oil fed by the HXL2’s automatic oil pump. Keep the reservoir topped up; motor oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil or transmission fluid must never go in.
Masport Flushing FluidCleans debris out of the pump and inhibits rust. Flush weekly, at the end of the day, and straight after any liquid or solids have been drawn into the pump.
Masport Flushing KitConnects to the flushing port on the pump to meter flushing fluid in while it runs. Worth fitting on any truck where carry-over into the pump is likely.
Wear & Consumable Parts
Bearing (item 28 F / 29 V)Supports the rotor in each end cover as a slip fit. Masport changed the bearing at serial Q06128, so renew both at every rebuild and if the rotor drags or the pump runs rough.
Bearing Spacer (item 27 F / 30 V)Sets the bearing position on the rotor shaft. Spacers are single-use, so fit new ones whenever the bearings come off.
Oil Seal (item 8 F / 4 V)Shaft seals in each end cover that keep oil in and air out. Fit new seals at every rebuild, the right way round, or the pump will weep oil at the shaft and lose vacuum.
End Cover Shim Gaskets (items 5, 6 F / 16, 17 V)Colour-coded shims between the cylinder and end covers that set rotor end clearance; marker holes show the thickness. Note colour and count on strip-down and fit matching new shims, as they are not reusable.
Flange, Valve Gaskets & O-Ring (items 14 F / 12, 13, 25.11, 11 V)Seal the port flanges, flange blanks and four-way valve to the cylinder. Replace any gasket disturbed during service, or if the pump sucks air at a flange.
Valve Cap Gasket & Indicator Washer (items 25.2, 25.8)Seal and mark the cap of the four-way vacuum/pressure valve. Renew when the valve is stripped or if it leaks air around the cap.
Oil Line & Elbow Swivels (items 29, 26 F / 31, 15 V)Carry oil from the oil pump into the end covers. Replace a cracked, kinked or blocked line straight away, as an oil-starved HXL2 overheats quickly.
Other Core Parts
Rotor Assembly (item 4 F / 22 V)The slotted rotor with stub shafts, machined and balanced as one unit, so never remove the stub shafts. Replace when the vane slots are burred or worn or the shafts are damaged.
Cylinder (item 1 F / 28 V)The pump body the vanes run in. Scoring deeper than 0.005" or corrugation you can feel calls for re-machining; a cracked housing means a new cylinder.
End Covers (items 2, 3 F / 24, 23 V)Carry the bearings and oil seals at each end of the cylinder. The oil-pump end cover changed at serial Q06128, so quote the serial when ordering one.
Four-Way Valve Assembly (item 25)Switches the pump between vacuum, neutral and pressure by turning the handle through 90°. Includes body 968349, spool 968341, spring 568347, handle 968055 and poppet 968351.
Drive Shaft Assembly & Oil Pump (items 11, 12, 9 F / 21, 19, 14 V)The worm-driven automatic oil pump meters oil to the pump and needs no adjustment. Replace the oil pump or worm gear if oil delivery stops or the drive teeth are worn.
Flange 1½" & Flange Blank (items 15, 16 F / 25.12, 26 V)The 1½" inlet and outlet flanges and the blanking plates on the unused ports. Replace if threads are damaged or the faces are corroded.

How we confirm the exact part: Item numbers and codes on this page are as printed in the Masport H-Series and HXL Series owner/operator manual, whose HXL2 parts lists cover serial Q06128 and greater. The nameplate model, for example HXL2V or HXL2F, sets the build, and the serial number matters because Masport changed the bearing and oil-pump end cover at Q06128 (earlier pumps take rebuild kit 14617). Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the right parts for your pump.

Models

The build letter follows the model on the Masport nameplate: V for the vacuum/pressure pump with four-way valve, F for vacuum only. Read the serial number from the same plate; Q06128 and later is the current parts list.

Codes as printed in the Masport H-Series/HXL Series owner/operator manual (HXL2F and HXL2V exploded views, serial Q06128 and greater) and its Replacement Parts Kit table; the HD1/HD2/HD3 manual also lists 14637 for the HXL2. Shim gaskets: F build 575005 (0.001") and 575006 (0.002"); V build 575006 and 575007 (0.003"), quantity varies pump to pump. Common to both builds: oil pump 575366, worm gear 568071, drive shaft assembly 968045, shaft guard 675264, flange gasket 36202, oil line 600293. Before serial P07044 the oil line used one 568086 (1/4") and one 568085 (1/8") elbow swivel. Manual figures: 1,250–1,750 rpm; at 1,750 rpm 3.6 hp at 27" Hg vacuum and 5.4 hp at 15 psi pressure; 1½" minimum plumbing ID; vacuum relief set for 20" Hg continuous at sea level; non-detergent rotary compressor or turbine oil. The manual gives no air-flow figure for the HXL2.

Troubleshooting

Pump overheats

Likely cause: low or no oil, running faster than 1,750 rpm or holding vacuum or pressure above the recommended maximum for long periods. Action: check the oil reservoir, oil line and oil pump delivery, then bring speed and relief valve settings back inside the manual limits.

Pump runs hot with oil and speed correct

Likely cause: a blocked inlet filter or exhaust, plumbing below 1½" ID, or a pump caked in mud. Action: clear the filter and exhaust, upsize undersized hose or pipe and wash the pump down so it can shed heat.

Rotor will not turn

Likely cause: a broken or jammed vane or a failed bearing. Action: strip the pump, check the vanes (item 7 F / 27 V) and bearings (item 28 F / 29 V) and fit the 14637 rebuild kit.

Rotor seized after a cold night or standing idle

Likely cause: ice inside the pump or a fault in the drive system. Action: thaw the pump before turning it, check the drive, and flush and oil the pump before it is parked up.

Vacuum or pressure is weak

Likely cause: worn vanes, worn shaft seals or the four-way valve sitting in neutral. Action: set the valve handle fully to vacuum or pressure, measure the vanes against the 1 5/8" limit and renew the oil seals (501578) if they leak.

Tank fills slowly even with a sound pump

Likely cause: leaks in the tank or pipework, a collapsed hose, a non-return valve not opening fully, a blocked filter or low rpm. Action: leak-test the system, replace collapsed hose, free the non-return valve, clean the filter and run the pump at its rated speed.
