Masport HXL3 Vacuum Pumps
Spare Parts for Masport HXL3V and HXL3F Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine OEM spare parts for the Masport HXL3, the larger of the two 1½"-ported HXL rotary vane vacuum pumps, run on Australian liquid-waste trucks for septic pump-out, industrial liquid waste and slide-in tank units and since succeeded by the HD3. Every code below comes from the Masport HXL3V and HXL3F parts lists, so tick the parts you need and we’ll match them to your nameplate, such as HXL3F.
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Masport HXL3 parts are matched to the build on the nameplate (V vacuum/pressure or F vacuum only) and the serial number, so those details are all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Replacement Parts Kit 14638 | The HXL3 rebuild set, holding the vane pack, both bearings and spacers, oil seals, end cover shims, and valve and flange gaskets. Pumps built before serial Q07076 use kit 14618. | |
| Vane Pack (item 7 F / 27 V) | Complete set of HXL3 vanes. Check vane height yearly: below 1 5/8" usable height, or with bowed, out-of-parallel or frayed vanes, the whole pack should be changed before the rotor and bore are damaged. | |
| Masport All Seasons Blend Pump Oil | The non-detergent compressor oil the HXL3’s oil pump feeds to the vanes and bearings. Use only this or an approved rotary compressor or turbine oil, never engine or hydraulic oil. | |
| Masport Flushing Fluid | Washes out sludge and stops corrosion inside the cylinder. Run it through every week and after liquid carry-over, then run the pump on oil before parking it up. | |
| Masport Flushing Kit | Feeds flushing fluid into the flushing port while the pump runs, available in plastic or steel. Makes weekly flushing quick enough to become routine. | |
| Wear & Consumable Parts | ||
| Bearing (item 28 F / 29 V) | One in each end cover, carrying the rotor. The bearing was changed at serial Q07076; replace both at a rebuild, or sooner if one is noisy, rough or binds in the cover. | |
| Bearing Spacer (item 27 F / 30 V) | Locates each bearing on the rotor. Not reusable once removed, so new spacers go in with new bearings. | |
| Oil Seal (item 8 F / 4 V) | Lip seals at both shaft ends. An oil leak at the shaft or loss of vacuum points to worn seals; fit new ones at every strip-down with the spring facing the correct way. | |
| End Cover Shim Gaskets (items 5, 6 F / 16, 17 V) | Thin coloured gaskets that set the end clearance between rotor and covers. Two marker holes mean 0.002", three mean 0.003"; replace with the same colour and count, never reuse. | |
| Flange, Valve Gaskets & O-Ring (items 14 F / 12, 13, 25.11, 11 V) | Make the air-tight joints at the 1½" flanges, blanks and four-way valve. A leaking joint robs vacuum, so renew gaskets whenever they are disturbed. | |
| Valve Cap Gasket & Indicator Washer (items 25.2, 25.8) | The cap gasket and position indicator washer on the HXL3V four-way valve. Replace when servicing the valve spool or if air escapes at the cap. | |
| Oil Line & Elbow Swivels (items 29, 26 F / 31, 15 V) | The feed from the automatic oil pump to the end covers. Check for splits and blockages at each service; a dry pump wears vanes and bearings fast. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Rotor Assembly (item 4 F / 22 V) | Balanced rotor and stub shafts machined as a single part. Replace if the slots are damaged or the shafts are scored; the F and V lists give different codes. | |
| Cylinder (item 1 F / 28 V) | The bore the vanes sweep. Clean and inspect at every rebuild; gouges deeper than 0.005" need boring and honing, and a crack means replacement. | |
| End Covers (items 2, 3 F / 24, 23 V) | House the bearings and oil seals. The oil-pump end cover was revised at serial Q07076, so give us the serial if a cover is cracked or the bearing bore is worn. | |
| Four-Way Valve Assembly (item 25) | Lets the HXL3V load (vacuum) or unload (pressure) the tank, with neutral in the middle. Sub-parts include valve body 968349, spool 968341, spool spring 568347 and poppet 968351. | |
| Drive Shaft Assembly & Oil Pump (items 11, 12, 9 F / 21, 19, 14 V) | Drives the pre-set automatic oil pump from the rotor through a worm gear. Replace parts if oil stops reaching the pump or the gear teeth are worn. | |
| Flange 1½" & Flange Blank (items 15, 16 F / 25.12, 26 V) | Connect the pump to 1½" plumbing and close off the spare ports. Swap out a cracked flange or one with stripped threads. | |
How we confirm the exact part: We quote item numbers and codes exactly as the Masport H-Series and HXL Series owner/operator manual prints them for the HXL3, covering serial Q07076 and greater. Your nameplate model (HXL3V or HXL3F) fixes the build, and the serial number tells us whether the pump has the bearing and oil-pump end cover introduced at Q07076 (older pumps use rebuild kit 14618). Tick the parts above and attach a nameplate photo, and we’ll check the codes for your pump.
Models
Check the Masport nameplate for the model and serial: HXL3V has the four-way vacuum/pressure valve, HXL3F is vacuum only. Serial Q07076 or higher matches the parts lists used on this page.

Manual power figures at 1,250 / 1,425 / 1,750 rpm: 3.9 / 4.5 / 6.5 hp at 27" Hg and 6.3 / 7.3 / 9.0 hp at 15 psi; 1½" minimum plumbing ID; set the vacuum relief for 20" Hg continuous at sea level and the pressure relief below 15 psi. No air-flow figure is printed for the HXL3.
Troubleshooting
HXL3 running hot
Likely cause: not enough oil reaching the pump, over-speeding, or long spells above the rated vacuum or pressure. Action: confirm the oil pump is delivering through the oil line, keep within 1,250–1,750 rpm and check the relief valve settings.
Overheating with a restricted system
Likely cause: a choked inlet filter, a blocked exhaust, hose or pipe smaller than 1½" ID, or mud built up on the pump. Action: clean the filter, clear the exhaust, correct the plumbing size and keep the pump body clean.
Pump locked up and will not rotate
Likely cause: a damaged vane or a collapsed bearing inside the pump. Action: pull the end cover, inspect the vane pack (968236) and bearings (501577) and rebuild with kit 14638.
Pump frozen or drive not turning it
Likely cause: water left in the pump has frozen, or the drive system has failed. Action: let the pump thaw out, inspect the drive, and flush and oil the pump before storage in cold weather.
Loss of vacuum or pressure
Likely cause: vanes worn short, leaking shaft seals or the valve handle left in neutral. Action: move the four-way valve fully over, check vane height against the 1 5/8" limit and fit new oil seals (501578).
Slow loading despite a healthy pump
Likely cause: leaking tank or pipework, a collapsed hose, a sticking non-return valve, a dirty inlet filter or speed below the recommended range. Action: find and fix air leaks, replace the collapsed hose, service the non-return valve and filter, and raise the pump speed.
