Service Intervals & When to Replace
- Bearing: grease the shaft inlet bearing every 1,000 running hours or at least once a year, using a high drop-point grease above about 100°C (IOM NT 1012).
- Piston and cylinder: wear parts, always replaced as a matched pair once they reach the minimum wear dimensions in Mouvex NT 1012-F00.
- Bushings, slide block and pads: check against the same wear table when the pump is opened; the bearing has a design life of about 20,000 hours.
- Seals: replace O-rings and seals that are scratched, cut or permanently set, and fit the seal set in the material the pump was built with (FKM or FEP-FKM).

Troubleshooting
No flow or low flow
Likely cause: Port plugs left in, wrong rotation or speed too low; a relief valve set below the discharge pressure or not closing; or internal wear. Action: Check the drive, rotation and speed, then measure discharge pressure. If it is low, reset or clean the relief valve; if the pump is worn, replace the piston and cylinder (as a matched pair), bushings and slide block.
High vacuum at the inlet, pump noisy
Likely cause: Suction lift or suction losses too high, a blocked inlet (valve, strainer, blank seal) or product vapour pressure too high for the temperature. Action: Lower the pump or shorten and enlarge the suction line, clear the strainer and valves, and cool the product or bring the pump closer to the tank.
Low vacuum and poor priming
Likely cause: Air leaking in at the front cover seals or flanges, the relief valve not seating, or internal wear. Action: Isolate the pump from the suction line and re-measure the vacuum. Replace the seal set, clean the relief valve seat, or replace the piston and cylinder (as a matched pair), bushings and slide block if the pump itself will not pull vacuum.
Bearings running hot
Likely cause: Pipework pulling on the pump flanges, poor pump-to-drive alignment, a twisted baseplate or excessive belt or chain tension. Action: Support the pipework so it does not load the pump, re-check coupling alignment at each installation stage, and make sure the baseplate sits on its mounting points.
Motor overloads or trips
Likely cause: Viscosity, specific gravity or head losses higher than the pump was selected for, speed too high, misalignment or a motor wiring fault. Action: Check the actual discharge pressure against the duty, reduce speed or heat the product, and check alignment and motor connections. Do not use the relief valve as a flow control.
