✓ Tick the parts you need. Sandpiper S15 Non-Metallic parts are matched to the pump's model code (wetted, diaphragm/valve and non-wetted material codes), so the full model number on your nameplate is all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.

SelectWear / Service ItemFunction & when to replace
Common Service Kits
Wetted End KitSandpiper’s wet-side overhaul set for the S15 plastic pump: diaphragms (plus PTFE overlays where fitted), four check balls and the check valve seals. Fit one at each planned rebuild or straight after a diaphragm rupture.
Air End KitSeals, O-rings, gaskets, retaining rings, the matched air valve sleeve and spool set and a complete pilot valve. Use it when the pump stalls, short-strokes or blows air through the exhaust; conductive pumps take the 559 version.
Diaphragm (item 15)The flexing membrane that moves the liquid, in Santoprene, nitrile, FKM or neoprene, or as a one-piece bonded PTFE diaphragm. Replace both together if either is cracked, stretched at the holes or chemically attacked.
Check Ball (item 3)Four balls close the suction and discharge valves on each stroke. Change them if they are undersized, flattened or swollen and the pump loses prime or delivers poorly.
Check Valve Seat (item 35)The moulded seats the balls close against, matched to the seat code (K PVDF or P polypropylene). Replace when the sealing edge is grooved, chipped or attacked by the product.
Wear & Consumable Parts
Overlay Diaphragm (item 16)The PTFE shield that sits on the liquid side of a rubber driver diaphragm on PTFE-faced builds. Inspect for creases or pin holes at every strip-down and renew with the drivers.
Check Valve Seal (item 33)Seals each seat between the outer chamber, elbows and manifolds. Fit new seals every time the check valves are taken apart, as used PTFE seals rarely reseal.
Manifold Seal (item 34)Seals the manifolds to the elbows at the suction and discharge ends. Renew when the manifolds are removed, rotated or converted to dual porting, or if they weep.
Air Valve Sleeve & Spool Set (item 1-A)The match-ground spool and sleeve inside the main air valve that switch air between chambers. They are supplied only as a pair; replace if the pump stalls or leaks air at the exhaust once the O-rings are new.
Pilot Valve Assembly (item 2)Signals the main air valve to shift at each end of the stroke. Replace the assembly, or its sleeve and spool O-rings, if the pump cycles once and stops or strokes unevenly.
Diaphragm Rod U-Cup Seal (item 32)Seals the diaphragm rod where it passes through the intermediate. Renew during any centre section rebuild, which Sandpiper advises after a diaphragm failure.
Muffler (item 1-F)Quietens the exhaust air leaving the air valve. Clean or replace it if it ices up, clogs or shows signs of pumped fluid, which points to a diaphragm leak.
Other Core Parts
Diaphragm Plates, inner & outer (items 26, 27)Clamp the diaphragm to the rod, torqued to 54 N·m. The one-piece bonded option uses inner plate 612.227.150; replace outer plates worn to a sharp edge, which cut diaphragms.
Diaphragm Rod (item 31)Links the two diaphragm assemblies through the intermediate. Replace if it is scored or marked, as surface damage wears the bushings and the U-cup seals.
Outer Chamber (item 13)The moulded liquid chamber each diaphragm pumps into. Replace if cracked, warped from over-tightening or attacked by the product; it must match the pump’s wetted code.
Manifold & Elbows (items 23, 17, 18)The suction and discharge manifolds with the elbows that carry the check valves. Replace if cracked or distorted at the flange; the polypropylene manifold is also listed in a 40 mm DIN version.
Intermediate Assembly (item 4)The centre section that carries the rod bushings, actuator plungers and pilot valve. Replace if the bores are worn oval or the housing is cracked.
Air Valve Assembly (item 1)The complete main air distribution valve. Versions are listed for piped exhaust, conductive pumps, PTFE-coated hardware, brass/stainless spool and the stroke indicator fitted to spill containment pumps.

How we confirm the exact part: Sandpiper S15 Non-Metallic parts depend on the wetted material, the diaphragm/check valve elastomer, the seat material and the non-wetted (centre section) material. Item and part numbers shown are as printed in the Sandpiper S15 Non-Metallic service manual (Design Level 3), and the last three digits of each part number are the material code. Your nameplate model code, e.g. S15B3P1PPUS000 (polypropylene wetted parts, Santoprene diaphragms and balls, polypropylene seats, glass-filled polypropylene centre section, universal flange, standard build), sets those materials. Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the correct parts for your exact pump.

Models

Read the S15 model code left to right: S, size 15, B for ball valves, design level 3, then the wetted material (P, K or C), diaphragm/check valve code, seat code (K or P), non-wetted material, porting, pump style (S standard; D, E, M or V spill containment with leak detection), pump options and kit options. For example S15B3K1KPUS000 is a PVDF pump with Santoprene diaphragms and balls and PVDF seats. The builds below follow that nomenclature.

Troubleshooting

Pump makes one stroke and stops

Likely cause: system pressure at or above the air supply (deadhead), air valve or intermediate gaskets fitted with the holes out of line, or a bent or missing actuator plunger. Action: raise the inlet air pressure, refit the gaskets with the ports aligned, and pull the pilot valve to check the actuator plungers (item 28).

Pump will not cycle at all

Likely cause: too much line oil, not enough air volume or pressure, a blocked muffler, a closed or clogged discharge, or liquid in the exhaust. Action: turn the lubricator down or remove it, check the air line and compressor, clean the muffler, open the discharge and inspect the air valve and pilot valve.

Pump cycles but will not prime

Likely cause: a check ball sticking or not seating, worn or chemically attacked balls and seats, a blocked suction line, or air drawn in on the suction side. Action: open the wet end and clear the valve pockets, replace the check balls (item 3) and seats (item 35), and check all suction-side seals and connections.

Sluggish flow or stalling

Likely cause: exhaust icing, over-lubrication, an undersized air or suction line, or the pump cycling so fast it cavitates. Action: de-ice the muffler and fit a point-of-use air dryer, enlarge the lines, and reduce the air pressure and volume until flow rises with speed.

Product coming out of the exhaust

Likely cause: a ruptured diaphragm or loose diaphragm plates, or a diaphragm stretched at its centre or bolt holes by excess pressure. Action: fit new diaphragms (item 15), torque the plates correctly and rebuild the centre section, then check the elastomer suits the product.

Diaphragms failing early

Likely cause: cavitation, high flooded-suction pressure, a chemically unsuitable elastomer, or plates fitted backwards or worn sharp. Action: enlarge the suction pipe, lower the inlet pressure or add a back-pressure device, recheck the material choice and replace worn outer plates (item 27).
