Product Summary
Genuine OEM spare parts for the Sandpiper S1F 1" metallic air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) ball valve pump, built in aluminium, cast iron or stainless steel and used across Australia for mine sump and dewatering transfer, solvent and paint handling, wastewater sludge and general plant duties. Wet End Kits in nine elastomer builds, Air End Kits for aluminium and cast iron centres, diaphragms, check balls, seats and the 1" manifolds are all listed in the S1F service manual, so tick what you need and we’ll match the parts to your nameplate, such as S1FB1ABAANS000.
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Sandpiper S1F parts are matched to the pump's model code (wetted, diaphragm/valve and non-wetted material codes), so the full model number on your nameplate is all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Wet End Kit | Sandpiper’s S1F wet end set: two diaphragms, four check balls and four seats in one material build (nine builds listed, 476.194.xxx). The quickest way to rebuild the fluid side in one hit. | |
| Air End Kit | Seals, O-ring, gaskets, retaining rings, the air valve sleeve and spool set and a pilot valve assembly. Order by centre section; 476.201.000 suits stroke-indicator air valves on aluminium centres. | |
| Diaphragm (item 14) | The flexing membrane that moves the fluid, two per pump. Change it if it is cracked, stretched at the centre or bolt holes, or if product appears at the air exhaust. | |
| Check Ball (item 2) | The four balls that open and close the suction and discharge check valves. Swap them when they are undersized, flattened or chemically attacked and the pump struggles to prime or hold flow. | |
| Check Ball Seat (item 29) | The seat each ball closes onto, four per pump, in polyethylene, PTFE, carbon steel, 316 stainless or aluminium. Renew with the balls if the sealing edge is grooved or eroded. | |
| Wear & Consumable Parts | ||
| Diaphragm Overlay, PTFE (item 15) | A PTFE skin fitted on the fluid side of a Santoprene or Neoprene backing diaphragm for aggressive chemicals. Change both overlays with their backers whenever one is creased or split. | |
| Check Valve Seal (item 22) | Needed only with the metallic seat option, eight per pump, in nitrile, FKM, EPDM, Neoprene or PTFE-encapsulated FKM. Fit a fresh set whenever the manifolds come off. | |
| Air Valve Sleeve & Spool Set (item 1-B) | The match-ground sleeve and spool that switch air between the chambers; they are lapped as a pair and cannot be mixed. Change the set if the pump stalls or blows air past the spool. | |
| Pilot Valve Sleeve & Spool (items 4-B, 4-D) | The small signalling valve that tells the main air valve when to shift. Renew it, or its O-rings 560.033.360 and 560.023.360, if the pump cycles once and stops or shifts erratically. | |
| Diaphragm Rod Seal (item 28) | Seals the diaphragm rod where it runs through the intermediate. Sandpiper advises a full centre rebuild, including these seals, after any diaphragm rupture. | |
| Bumper (item 6) | Cushions the inner diaphragm plates at the end of each stroke. Fit new ones when they are flattened or split, usually during a diaphragm change. | |
| Air Valve, Pilot & Inlet Cap Gaskets (items 16–18) | Seal the air valve, pilot valve and air inlet cap to the centre section. A misaligned or crushed gasket can leave the pump cycling once and stopping, so fit new ones on reassembly. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Inner & Outer Diaphragm Plates (items 23, 24) | Clamp each diaphragm to the rod: 612.022.330 inner (612.218.330 with one-piece bonded) and an outer plate to suit the wetted metal. Renew if bent, scaled or worn to a sharp edge. | |
| Diaphragm Rod (item 27) | Joins the two diaphragm assemblies so they stroke together. Change it if the surface is scored or marked, as a damaged rod chews through the bushings and rod seals. | |
| Suction & Discharge Manifolds (items 19, 20) | Carry product in and out of the pump and hold the check valves. Listed in aluminium, cast iron and 316 stainless with NPT, BSP tapered, welded ANSI or ANSI/DIN flange ends; renew if cracked or eroded. | |
| Outer Chamber (item 13) | The fluid-side chamber bolted over each diaphragm, two per pump, in aluminium, cast iron or 316 stainless. Renew if worn thin by abrasive slurry, pitted or cracked. | |
| Intermediate (item 5) | The centre section that houses the rod bushings, actuator plungers and seals and carries the air and pilot valves. Renew if the bores are worn oval or the casting is damaged. | |
| Air Valve Assembly (item 1) | The complete no-lube main air distribution valve, listed for aluminium or cast iron centres, stainless hardware and stroke-indicator builds. Order the full assembly when the body itself is damaged. | |
How we confirm the exact part: the item and part numbers shown are as printed in the Sandpiper S1F Metallic service manual (Design Level 1), where the last three digits of each part number are the material code. Your nameplate model code sets the build: for example S1FB1ABAANS000 reads S1F 1" ball valve, design level 1, aluminium wetted parts, nitrile diaphragms and balls, aluminium seats, painted aluminium centre, NPT ports, standard style, no pump or kit options. Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the correct parts for your pump.
Models
The S1F model code runs S + 1F (size) + B (ball valve) + 1 (design level), then the wetted material, diaphragm/check valve, seat and non-wetted material letters, porting, style and option codes (e.g. S1FB1ABAANS000, where the sixth character A is aluminium wetted). The builds below are the wetted material options in the S1F Metallic nomenclature.

Troubleshooting
Pump cycles once then stops
Likely cause: system pressure equal to or above the air supply (deadhead), air valve or intermediate gaskets fitted with holes out of line, or a bent or missing actuator plunger. Action: raise the inlet air pressure, refit the gaskets (items 16–18) with holes aligned, and pull the pilot valve to check the actuator pins (item 25).
Pump will not run at all
Likely cause: too much lubricator oil, not enough air volume or pressure, a closed discharge, or an iced or blocked muffler. Action: turn the lubricator down or remove it, check the air line and compressor capacity, open the discharge and clean or de-ice the muffler; then inspect the air and pilot valves.
Pump cycles but will not prime or deliver
Likely cause: cavitation, a ball not seating or pushed into the chamber, worn balls or seats, a blocked suction or air leaking in on the suction side. Action: move the pump closer to the source, clear the valve pockets and suction strainers, check suction-side gaskets and fit new check balls (item 2) and seats (item 29).
Flow sluggish or pump stalling
Likely cause: icing in the exhaust, clogged manifolds, an undersized suction or air line, or too much air causing the fluid to cavitate. Action: de-ice and fit a point-of-use air dryer, clean the manifolds, match or exceed the 1" pump ports and reduce air pressure until flow stops climbing with speed.
Product coming out of the air exhaust
Likely cause: a ruptured diaphragm or a loose diaphragm plate assembly. Action: fit new diaphragms (item 14), check the plates are tight to the torque on the drawing, and rebuild the centre section with an Air End Kit.
Diaphragms failing early
Likely cause: cavitation, too much flooded suction pressure, an elastomer unsuited to the product, or plates fitted backwards or worn sharp. Action: enlarge the suction line or reduce inlet head, check the chemical resistance chart for the right elastomer and renew worn diaphragm plates (items 23, 24).
