Spare Parts for Sandpiper S1F 1" Non-Metallic Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine OEM spare parts for the Sandpiper S1F Non-Metallic 1" air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump, built in polypropylene, PVDF or conductive plastics for acid, caustic, hypochlorite and reagent transfer in Australian water and wastewater plants, mine processing and chemical handling. Wet End Kits by elastomer, the Air End Kit for the polypropylene centre section, pilot valve parts and wetted castings are all listed in the Sandpiper service manual, so tick what you need and we’ll match them to your nameplate, such as S1FB3P1PPUS000.
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Sandpiper S1F Non-Metallic parts are matched to the pump's model code (wetted, diaphragm/valve and non-wetted material codes), so the full model number on your nameplate is all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Wet End Kit | Sandpiper’s wet-side rebuild set: diaphragms, check balls and PTFE check valve seals in the elastomer coded on your nameplate (e.g. 476.197.354 for Santoprene). The first thing to order when a diaphragm has let go. | |
| Air End Kit | Seals, O-rings, gaskets, retaining rings, the air valve sleeve and spool set and the pilot valve assembly for the polypropylene centre section. Fit it when the pump stalls, short-strokes or leaks air; it does not include the complete air valve. | |
| Diaphragm (item 16) | The flexing membrane that does the pumping; PTFE-overlay builds add 286.108.600 overlays (item 17) on the wetted face. Replace when product shows at the exhaust or the rubber is cracked, swollen or chemically attacked. | |
| Check Ball (item 2) | The four balls that open and close the suction and discharge valves. Change them when they are undersize, flat-spotted or softened by the product, as worn balls let the pump cycle without moving liquid. | |
| Check Valve Seat (item 37) | The plastic seat each ball closes onto, matched to the check valve seat code in your model number. Replace if the sealing edge is chipped, grooved or attacked, otherwise new balls will still leak back. | |
| Wear & Consumable Parts | ||
| Check Valve Seal (item 36) | PTFE seals either side of each valve seat that stop liquid bypassing the check valves. Supplied in every Wet End Kit; renew whenever the manifolds or elbows are taken off. | |
| Diaphragm Rod Seal (item 34) | Seals the rod where it passes through the intermediate bracket, keeping drive air out of the opposite chamber. Fit new ones during any centre-section rebuild or if air leaks across the rod. | |
| Diaphragm Bumper (item 5) | Nitrile bumpers on the diaphragm rod that cushion the inner plates at the end of each stroke. Swap them when hardened or split to protect the inner chambers and actuator pins. | |
| Pilot Valve Assembly (item 3) | Signals the main air valve to shift at the end of each stroke. Rebuild with the sleeve, spool and O-rings (560.033.360, 560.023.360) if the pump cycles once and stops or strokes erratically. | |
| Sleeve & Spool Set (item 1-A) | The match-ground sleeve and spool inside the main air distribution valve; the two halves are not interchangeable. Replace as a pair if the pump stalls, blows air from the muffler or will not shift. | |
| Muffler (item 1-F) | The integral exhaust muffler on the air valve cap; conductive builds use the threaded conductive muffler. Replace when blocked, iced or wet with product, as a choked muffler slows or stops the pump. | |
| Air Side Gaskets (items 20–23) | Gaskets for the air valve, pilot valve, air inlet and inner chambers. Fit new ones with holes correctly aligned whenever these joints are broken; a misaligned gasket can stop the pump shifting. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Diaphragm Plates, Inner & Outer (items 28, 29) | Clamp each diaphragm to the rod; inner plates are 612.200.157 or 612.200.082, with 612.220.150 for one-piece bonded builds. Replace if cracked or worn to a sharp edge, which cuts diaphragms. | |
| Diaphragm Rod (item 33) | The stainless rod that links both diaphragm assemblies through the centre section. Replace if scored or marked, as surface damage wears the rod seals and bushings quickly. | |
| Outer Chamber (item 14) | The moulded liquid chamber over each diaphragm, in PP, PVDF or a conductive plastic per your wetted code. Replace if cracked, crazed by UV or attacked by the product. | |
| Manifolds & Elbows (items 18, 19, 24) | The suction and discharge manifolds plus discharge and suction elbows that form the flanged 1" ports; inline-ported PP pumps use 518.203.552 and 518.204.552 instead. Replace if cracked or the flange faces are damaged. | |
| Intermediate Bracket (item 4) | The glass-filled polypropylene centre section that carries the rod, plunger bushings and pilot valve. Sandpiper advises a full centre-section rebuild after a diaphragm failure; replace if the bores are worn or cracked. | |
| Air Valve Assembly (item 1) | The complete main air distribution valve, listed in standard, conductive, PTFE-coated hardware, piped-exhaust and stroke indicator versions. Order whole when the body or end caps are damaged. | |
How we confirm the exact part: Sandpiper S1F Non-Metallic parts change with the wetted material, diaphragm/check valve elastomer, check valve seat, non-wetted material and porting style. The item and part numbers shown are as printed in the Sandpiper S1F Non-Metallic service and operating manual (Design Level 3); the nameplate model code, such as S1FB3P1PPUS000 (polypropylene wetted, Santoprene diaphragms and balls, polypropylene seats, universal flange, standard style), sets every material. Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the correct parts for your pump.
Models
The S1F model code reads S + size 1F + check valve B + design level 3, then the wetted material (K PVDF, P polypropylene, C conductive polypropylene, V conductive PVDF), diaphragm/check valve code, seat (K or P), non-wetted material, porting, pump style, options and kit options, e.g. S1FB3K1KPUS000. The builds below follow that wetted-material and style coding.

Troubleshooting
Pump cycles once then stops
Likely cause: system pressure at or above the air supply (deadhead), air valve or intermediate gaskets fitted out of line, or a bent or missing actuator plunger. Action: raise the inlet air pressure, refit the gaskets with holes aligned and pull the pilot valve to check the actuator plungers (item 30).
Pump will not run or cycle
Likely cause: too much line lubricant, not enough air volume or pressure, a blocked muffler, a closed discharge or a fault in the air distribution system. Action: turn the lubricator down or off, check air line size and compressor capacity, clean or de-ice the muffler and inspect the air valve, pilot valve and actuators.
Pump cycles but will not prime
Likely cause: suction-side cavitation or air leaks, too much lift, a blocked suction line, or balls that are worn, missing or not seating. Action: move the pump closer to the source, clear the line, check the suction gaskets and replace worn balls (item 2) or seats (item 37).
Product coming out of the exhaust
Likely cause: a ruptured diaphragm, loose diaphragm plates, or a diaphragm stretched at its centre or bolt holes from excess inlet or air pressure. Action: fit new diaphragms with tight plates, check pressures and chemical compatibility, and rebuild the centre section as Sandpiper recommends.
Diaphragms failing early
Likely cause: cavitation, high flooded-suction pressure, a chemically unsuitable elastomer, or plates fitted backwards or worn sharp. Action: enlarge the suction pipe, lower the inlet pressure or add a back-pressure device, recheck the elastomer and renew the plates (items 28, 29).
Sluggish, stalling or uneven strokes
Likely cause: icing in the exhaust, clogged manifolds, air in the product or a vapour-locked chamber, or worn check valves. Action: de-ice the muffler and fit an air dryer, clean the manifolds, check suction joints for leaks and replace worn balls and seats.
