Sandpiper S30 Metallic Pumps
Spare Parts for Sandpiper S30 3" Metallic Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine OEM spare parts for the Sandpiper S30 3" metallic air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump, the high-volume ball valve model rated to 1,078 L/min and built in aluminium, cast iron, stainless steel or Alloy C for mine dewatering, sump and slurry duties, wastewater sludge, solvent and paint transfer. Wet End Kits, the Air End Kit, diaphragms, check balls and seats all carry their own numbers in the S30 Design Level 1 service manual, so tick what you need and we’ll match the parts to your nameplate, such as S30B1ABBANS000.
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Sandpiper S30 Metallic parts are matched to the pump's model code (wetted, diaphragm/valve and non-wetted material codes), so the full model number on your nameplate is all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Wet End Kit | Sandpiper’s wet-side rebuild set for the S30: a pair of diaphragms with four check balls and four seats in the matching material (PTFE overlays too on the overlay builds). The first thing to order when the pump has lost flow or a diaphragm has let go. | |
| Air End Kit (aluminium centre) | Rebuilds the air side of an aluminium-centre S30: air valve and pilot valve assemblies, seals, O-rings, gaskets and plungers. Fit it when the pump stalls, short-strokes or blows air through the exhaust. | |
| Diaphragm (item 16) | The flexing membrane between the air and liquid chambers, sold in pairs (286.098.xxx by elastomer). Change both at once if either is cracked, swollen or leaking, or if product shows at the exhaust. | |
| Check Ball (item 2) | The four balls that open and close the suction and discharge valves. Replace when they are undersized, flat-spotted or chemically attacked; weighted balls help where the product is heavy or thick. | |
| Check Ball Seat (items 33, 38, 39) | The seats the balls close against, in Buna, FKM, EPDM, Neoprene, UHMW, PTFE, aluminium, steel or stainless. Metal seats need eight item 39 O-rings or PTFE seals; renew seats when worn or grooved. | |
| Wear & Consumable Parts | ||
| PTFE Overlay Diaphragm (item 17) | A PTFE diaphragm that sits on the fluid side of a Santoprene or Neoprene backer for aggressive chemicals (build codes 2 and G). Swap it with the backer diaphragm whenever either shows wear. | |
| Diaphragm Bumper (item 6) | Cushions the diaphragm assembly at the end of each stroke inside the centre section. Check it at every diaphragm change and fit new ones if they are split, flattened or missing. | |
| Air Valve Sleeve and Spool Set (item 1-B) | The matched sleeve and spool that switch air between the two chambers. They are ground as a pair and cannot be mixed, so replace the set if the pump stalls or leaks air at the valve. | |
| Pilot Valve Assembly (item 4) | Signals the main air valve to shift at the end of each stroke. The sleeve, spool and their O-rings (4-B to 4-E) wear first; renew the pilot valve if the pump cycles once and stops. | |
| Actuator Plunger and Plunger Bushing (items 29, 7) | The plungers that the diaphragm plates strike to trip the pilot valve, running in bushings in the intermediate bracket. Replace if bent, worn or missing, with new retaining rings (item 30). | |
| Diaphragm Rod U-Cup Seal (item 32) | Seals the diaphragm rod where it passes through the intermediate bracket. Sandpiper suggests a full centre-section rebuild after any diaphragm failure, and that includes these seals. | |
| Gaskets (items 18–21) | The air valve (360.093.360), pilot valve (360.114.360), air inlet cap (360.104.379) and inner chamber (360.105.360) gaskets. Fit new ones whenever the air end is opened, with the holes lined up. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Diaphragm Plates, inner and outer (items 27, 28) | Clamp the diaphragm onto the rod, torqued plate to plate. Replace if corroded, scaled, deformed or if the outer plate has worn to a sharp edge that will cut the diaphragm. | |
| Diaphragm Rod (item 31) | Links the two diaphragm assemblies through the centre section. Replace if it is scored or marked, as surface damage wears out the intermediate bushings and rod seals. | |
| Outer Chamber (item 14) | The wetted chamber on the liquid side of each diaphragm. Replace if it is eroded by slurry, corroded or cracked, matched to your wetted material code. | |
| Suction and Discharge Manifolds (items 22, 23, 36, 37) | Carry the product in and out and hold the check valve seats. Matched to your porting code (N, B, A or D) and wetted material; replace if worn through, cracked or the threads or flange faces are damaged. | |
| Intermediate Bracket and Inner Chambers (items 5, 15) | The centre section that houses the pilot valve, plungers and rod seal. Aluminium-centre pumps can move to cast iron with the Midsection Conversion Kit 475-217-000; replace if cracked or the bores are worn. | |
| Air Valve Assembly (item 1) | The complete main air distribution valve, also listed with a stroke indicator (031.146.000) or for piped exhaust. Replace the whole unit if the body is damaged rather than just worn internally. | |
How we confirm the exact part: S30 Metallic parts change with the wetted material, diaphragm/check valve and seat materials, centre-section (non-wetted) material, porting and hardware. The item and part numbers above are as printed in the Sandpiper S30 Metallic Design Level 1 service and operating manual; the nameplate model code sets every material, e.g. S30B1ABBANS000 is an aluminium-wetted, Nitrile-fitted, aluminium-centre pump with NPT ports. Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the correct parts for your pump.
Models
Read the S30 model code left to right: S, size 30, check valve type (B ball or W weighted ball), design level 1, then wetted material, diaphragm/check valve, seat, non-wetted material, porting, pump style, pump option and kit option, e.g. S30B1ABBANS000. The builds below are the wetted materials and valve types listed in the S30 Metallic manual.

Troubleshooting
Pump strokes once and stops
Likely cause: discharge pressure equal to or above the air supply, air valve or intermediate gaskets fitted out of line, or a bent or missing actuator plunger. Action: raise the inlet air pressure, refit the gaskets with the holes aligned and pull the pilot valve to check the actuator plungers (item 29).
Pump will not cycle at all
Likely cause: too much line lubrication, too little air volume or pressure, a blocked or iced exhaust muffler, or a closed discharge valve. Action: turn the lubricator down or off, check the air line size and compressor capacity, clean the muffler and strip the air valve and pilot valve if it still will not shift.
Pump cycles but will not prime or deliver
Likely cause: suction-side cavitation or air leaks, a blocked suction line, or check balls that are stuck, missing, worn or attacked by the product. Action: move the pump closer to the source, seal the suction joints, clear the valve pockets and fit new check balls and seats (or heavier weighted balls).
Running sluggish or stalling
Likely cause: icing at the exhaust, over-lubrication, an undersized air or suction line, clogged manifolds, or air pressure set higher than the system needs. Action: de-ice the muffler and fit a point-of-use air dryer, upsize restrictive lines, clean the manifolds and back the inlet air off to stop fast cycling.
Product coming out of the exhaust
Likely cause: a ruptured diaphragm, loose diaphragm plates, or a diaphragm stretched at the centre or bolt holes by excess pressure. Action: fit new diaphragms (item 16) and tighten the plates to torque; rebuild the centre section and check inlet and air pressures are within limits.
Diaphragms keep failing early
Likely cause: cavitation, high flooded-suction pressure, a material not suited to the product, or diaphragm plates that are wrong, reversed or worn sharp. Action: enlarge the suction line or reduce inlet head, check the elastomer against the chemical resistance guide and replace worn plates (items 27, 28).
