Sandpiper S30 Non-Metallic Pumps
Spare Parts for Sandpiper S30 3" Non-Metallic Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps
Product Summary
Genuine OEM spare parts for the Sandpiper S30 Non-Metallic 3" air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump, the largest plastic Sandpiper ball valve pump, built in polypropylene or PVDF for bulk acid, caustic, hypochlorite and other corrosive chemical transfer, tank unloading and wastewater treatment duties across Australia. Wet End Kits, Santoprene and PTFE overlay diaphragms, check balls, valve seats, manifold seals and the air valve are all listed in the Design Level 3 service manual, so tick what you need and we’ll match the parts to your nameplate, such as S30B3P1PPAS000.
Spare Parts List
✓ Tick the parts you need. Sandpiper S30 Non-Metallic parts are matched to the pump's model code (wetted, diaphragm/valve and non-wetted material codes), so the full model number on your nameplate is all we need to get them right. Not sure which items? Add a photo of the nameplate and we’ll work it out for you.
| Select | Wear / Service Item | Function & when to replace |
|---|---|---|
| Common Service Kits | ||
| Wet End Kit | Sandpiper’s wetted-side overhaul set for the S30 plastic pump: diaphragms, four check balls, manifold seals and valve module seals. Separate kits cover the standard and spill containment builds; order one at each diaphragm change. | |
| Air End Kit | Rebuilds the centre section: air valve sleeve and spool set, pilot valve assembly, seals, O-rings, gaskets and retaining rings. Fit it when the pump stalls, short-strokes or leaks air at the exhaust; 476.390.000 adds bumpers, bushings and plungers. | |
| Diaphragm (items 16, 17) | The two flexing diaphragms that do the pumping. The PTFE overlay (17) runs in front of a Santoprene backer for aggressive chemicals; replace both sides together if they are cracked, stretched at the bolt holes or product shows at the exhaust. | |
| Check Ball (item 2) | The four 3" check valve balls that open and close on each stroke. Change them when they are undersize, flat-spotted or swollen by the product, as worn balls cause lost prime and poor flow. | |
| Valve Seat (item 36) | The moulded seats the balls close against, made in the same plastic as the pump body. Replace if the sealing edge is chipped, grooved or chemically attacked; not part of the Wet End Kit, so order them separately. | |
| Wear & Consumable Parts | ||
| Valve Module Seal (item 35) | PTFE seals above and below each ball retainer and seat stack in the outer chambers. Fit new ones each time the valve stacks are opened, as a reused seal can let air into the suction side. | |
| Manifold Seal (item 34) | Seals the suction and discharge manifolds to the elbows. Renew whenever a manifold is removed or the pump is converted to dual porting, or if it weeps at the joint. | |
| Diaphragm Rod U-Cup Seal (item 33) | Stops air bypassing along the diaphragm rod through the intermediate. Sandpiper recommends a full centre-section rebuild after any diaphragm failure, including new rod seals. | |
| Diaphragm Bumper (item 5) | Cushions the inner diaphragm plate at the end of each stroke. Replace if cracked or flattened, usually at the same time as the diaphragms. | |
| Air Valve Sleeve & Spool Set (item 1-A) | The match-ground spool and sleeve that switch air between chambers; they are only supplied as a pair. Change the set if the pump stalls or blows air from the exhaust at rest. | |
| Pilot Valve Assembly (item 3) | Signals the main air valve to shift when a diaphragm plate reaches the actuator plunger. Worn O-rings on the pilot sleeve (755.052.000) or spool (775.055.000) give erratic or single-stroke running. | |
| Muffler (item 1-F) | The encapsulated exhaust muffler on the air valve. Clean or replace it if blocked or iced up, and check for product in it as a sign of diaphragm rupture. | |
| Other Core Parts | ||
| Outer Chamber (item 14) | The moulded liquid chamber on each side that houses the diaphragm and carries the check valve stacks. Replace if cracked, warped at the sealing faces or attacked by the product. | |
| Manifold (item 24) | The suction and discharge manifolds joining the two elbows to the pipework. Order the 518.226 series in your plastic, adding the E suffix for 80 mm DIN flanges; spill containment pumps use the 518.227 series. | |
| Suction & Discharge Elbows (items 18, 19) | Elbows that link each outer chamber to the manifolds and allow the dual-port arrangements. Replace if cracked or distorted; the last three digits give the plastic (552 PP, 520 PVDF). | |
| Diaphragm Plates (items 27, 28) | Clamp the diaphragm to the rod: an aluminium-centred inner plate and a plastic outer plate on the wetted side. Replace if deformed or worn to a sharp edge, which cuts diaphragms early. | |
| Diaphragm Rod (item 32) | Connects the two diaphragm assemblies through the intermediate. Replace if scored, bent or marked, since a damaged rod quickly wears the U-cup seals and bushings. | |
| Air Valve Assembly (item 1) | The complete no-lube main air distribution valve. Listed with muffler, piped exhaust, brass spool/stainless sleeve, PTFE-coated hardware and stroke indicator versions; swap the whole valve if the body is damaged. | |
How we confirm the exact part: item and part numbers shown are as printed in the Sandpiper S30 Non-Metallic Design Level 3 service manual. The model code on your nameplate sets the wetted plastic, diaphragm and check ball materials, seat material, non-wetted material, porting and pump style, for example S30B3P1PPAS000 is a polypropylene pump with Santoprene diaphragms and balls, polypropylene seats, ANSI flanges and standard style. Tick the items above and add a nameplate photo, and we’ll confirm the correct parts for your pump.
Models
Read the S30 model code left to right: S, size 30, B for ball valves, design level 3, then the wetted material (P polypropylene, K PVDF), diaphragm/check valve code, seat material, non-wetted material, porting (A ANSI, D DIN, 7–9 dual porting), pump style (S standard, V/M/D/E spill containment with leak detection) and kit options, e.g. S30B3K2KPAS000. The builds below are those the manual’s nomenclature defines.

Troubleshooting
Pump will not cycle or stops
Likely cause: a blocked or iced muffler, a closed discharge valve or clogged manifold, low air supply, over-lubrication, or a worn air valve or pilot valve. Action: clean or de-ice the muffler, clear the discharge line, check the air line size and compressor capacity, and inspect the air valve, pilot valve and actuator plungers.
Pump cycles once then stops
Likely cause: system pressure equal to the air supply (deadhead), air valve or intermediate gaskets fitted out of line, or a bent or missing actuator plunger. Action: raise the inlet air pressure, refit the gaskets with holes aligned and pull the pilot valve to check the actuator plungers (item 29).
Pump cycles but will not prime
Likely cause: a ball not seating or sticking, missing or worn balls and seats, a blocked suction line, or air leaking in at suction-side seals. Action: open the wet end, clear the valve pockets and fit new check balls (item 2) and seats (item 36) if worn; check the manifold and valve module seals.
Product coming out of the exhaust
Likely cause: a ruptured diaphragm, loose diaphragm plates, or a diaphragm stretched at the centre or bolt holes by high inlet or air pressure. Action: fit new diaphragms, tighten the plate assemblies to the torque on the exploded view and rebuild the centre section; check the materials suit the product.
Diaphragms failing early
Likely cause: cavitation, too much flooded suction pressure, a product that attacks the elastomer, or outer plates worn sharp or fitted backwards. Action: enlarge the suction line, lower the inlet head or add a back-pressure device, check the chemical resistance and renew worn diaphragm plates.
Uneven cycling or low flow
Likely cause: excessive suction lift, an undersized suction line, an obstructed check valve, or entrained air or vapour lock in a chamber. Action: fill the chambers to prime on lifts over about 6 m, match the suction line to the 3" port, clear the check valves and purge trapped air.
