How we confirm the exact part: Part numbers on this page are as printed in the Tsurumi (Europe) parts lists for 50 Hz models, and service guidance is from the Tsurumi operation manual (B-10240-6). Voltage versions of some parts (for example motor protectors) differ, so send the nameplate details or a photo and we’ll confirm the right part before we quote.
Service Intervals & When to Replace
- Mechanical seal: check the oil every 6 months or 2,000 hours (GSZ: 3,000 hours). If it is milky or has water in it, the mechanical seal is letting water in and needs replacing.
- Oil: change it every 12 months or 4,000 hours (GSZ: 6,000 hours) with turbine oil VG32 (non-additive), to the volume in the table above.
- Packing & O-rings: fit a new set every time the pump is opened or inspected.
- Impeller & suction cover: a clear drop in head or flow usually means a worn impeller or a blocked strainer. Worn impellers have sharp edges, so handle with gloves, and check the impeller turns freely without rubbing after refitting.
- Overhaul: Tsurumi recommends a full overhaul every 2 to 5 years, even if the pump seems fine.
- Impeller gap: after replacing the impeller, suction cover or suction plate, Tsurumi says to measure and reset the impeller gap with a feeler gauge (GSZ has no gap adjustment).
- Air release valve: check monthly that it works at start-up, as it prevents air locks.
Models
Covers six GPN models, the GSZ2-75-4 and GSZ2-75-4L, and the GSD-55-4. The agitator on GPN and GSD models stirs settled solids into suspension so the pump can lift them. The model is on the pump nameplate.

Troubleshooting
Pump will not start
Likely cause: Power is off; Cabtyre cable cut or connected improperly; Impeller is clogged. Action: Turn power on; Repair/replace cable or fix connection; Inspect pump and remove debris.
Pump stops soon after starting (motor protector operates)
Likely cause: Impeller is clogged; Low voltage; Wrong power frequency; Extended operation with clogged strainer stand; Faulty motor (burning, water infiltration, etc.). Action: Remove debris; Provide rated voltage or ensure power cable extension is proper standard; Check nameplate and replace the pump; Remove debris from strainer stand; Repair or replace motor.
Poor lift or discharge capacity (printed 'Pool life or Discharge capacity')
Likely cause: Worn out impeller; Sharply bent or clogged hose; Motor direction reversed; Wrong power frequency. Action: Replace worn impeller; Straighten sharp bends; screen pump to keep debris away; Interchange power supply leads (P.15); Check nameplate and replace the pump.
Heavy vibration or noise
Likely cause: Damaged motor bearing. Action: Contact dealer and replace motor bearing.
