How we confirm the exact part: Part numbers on this page are as printed in the Tsurumi (Europe) parts lists for 50 Hz models, and service guidance is from the Tsurumi operation manual (B-10220-2). Voltage versions of some parts (for example motor protectors) differ, so send the nameplate details or a photo and we’ll confirm the right part before we quote.
Service Intervals & When to Replace
- Mechanical seal: check the oil every 6 months or 3,000 hours. If it is milky or has water in it, the mechanical seal is letting water in and needs replacing.
- Oil: change it every 12 months or 6,000 hours with turbine oil VG32 (non-additive), to the volume in the table above.
- Packing & O-rings: fit a new set every time the pump is opened or inspected.
- Impeller & suction cover: a clear drop in head or flow usually means a worn impeller or a blocked strainer. Worn impellers have sharp edges, so handle with gloves, and check the impeller turns freely without rubbing after refitting.
- Overhaul: Tsurumi recommends a full overhaul every 2 to 5 years, even if the pump seems fine.
- Oil seal (1.5 to 5.5 kW): replace when the lip is worn and every time the pump is opened. Labyrinth ring and shaft sleeve: replace when worn.
- Electrodes: clean them monthly with abrasive paper or similar.

One page covers the whole KTZE range. The model code shows discharge and power: KTZE32.2 is an 80 mm (3") outlet at 2.2 kW. The -5x suffix marks 50 Hz versions. Clean the electrodes regularly, as fouling is a common cause of start problems.

Troubleshooting
Pump fails to start
Likely cause: No power supplied (power outage); Open circuit or poor connection of cabtyre cable; Impeller obstructed; Obstructed conductivity (electrode); Short circuit between electrode and body by fouling object; Affected by nearby electric apparatus. Action: Contact power company or electrical repair shop; Check cabtyre cable/wiring for open circuit; Inspect pump and remove obstruction; Clean the electrode; Remove the object causing the short circuit; Relocate if found to be the cause.
Pump starts but stops immediately, motor protector actuates
Likely cause: Impeller obstructed; Voltage drop; 50 Hz model operated at 60 Hz; Strainer obstructed and pump run dry for long hours; Motor abnormal; Pump picking up too much sediment. Action: Inspect pump and remove obstruction; Correct to rated voltage or use extension cable meeting the standard; Check nameplate and replace the pump; Remove the obstruction; Repair motor or replace with new motor; Place a concrete block under the pump.
Pump head and pumping volume lower
Likely cause: Impeller worn; Hose kinked or clogged; Strainer obstructed or buried; Motor rotating in reverse. Action: Replace; Minimise hose bends (in heavy debris use the pump in a meshed basket); Remove obstruction; place a concrete block under the pump; Interchange power supply terminal connections.
Pump generates noise or vibration
Likely cause: Motor bearing may be damaged. Action: Contact dealer or Tsurumi sales office to replace the bearing.
