How we confirm the exact part: Part numbers on this page are as printed in the Tsurumi (Europe) parts lists for 50 Hz models, and service guidance is from the Tsurumi operation manual (B-10223-1). Voltage versions of some parts (for example motor protectors) differ, so send the nameplate details or a photo and we’ll confirm the right part before we quote.
Service Intervals & When to Replace
- Mechanical seal: check the oil every 6 months or 3,000 hours. If it is milky or has water in it, the mechanical seal is letting water in and needs replacing.
- Oil: change it every 12 months or 6,000 hours with turbine oil VG32 (non-additive), to the volume in the table above.
- Packing & O-rings: fit a new set every time the pump is opened or inspected.
- Impeller & suction cover: a clear drop in head or flow usually means a worn impeller or a blocked strainer. Worn impellers have sharp edges, so handle with gloves, and check the impeller turns freely without rubbing after refitting.
- Overhaul: Tsurumi recommends a full overhaul every 2 to 5 years, even if the pump seems fine.
- Bearing grease (55 kW and above): regrease about every 3,000 hours at the grease nipple, using the grease type and quantity in the manual for your model.
- LH-W casings: the mouth ring and labyrinth ring are press-fitted into the lower and upper pump casings, so replace both casings together when worn.

Troubleshooting
Pump will not start
Likely cause: Power is off; Cabtyre cable cut or not connected properly; Impeller is clogged. Action: Restore power; Repair/replace cable or fix connection; Inspect pump and remove debris.
Pump stops soon after starting (motor protector operates)
Likely cause: Impeller is clogged; Low voltage; Wrong power frequency; Extended operation with a clogged strainer; Faulty motor; Excessive sand is discharged. Action: Remove debris; Provide rated voltage or ensure cabtyre extension is proper standard; Check nameplate and replace the pump; Remove debris from strainer; Repair or replace motor; Place pump on a block/base so sand is not sucked in.
Poor lift or discharge capacity
Likely cause: Worn out impeller; Sharply bent or clogged hose; Strainer stand clogged or buried; Motor direction reversed. Action: Replace; Straighten sharp bends; screen the pump to keep debris away; Clear strainer stand or place block under pump; Interchange power supply leads (p.10).
Pump generates noise or vibration
Likely cause: Bearing grease running out or insufficient; Damaged motor bearing. Action: Add grease; Contact dealer and replace motor.
