Service Intervals & When to Replace
- Bearing lubrication: V2000/V3000/V3010 bearings need greasing through the nipples about every 500 hours with lithium complex NLGI Grade 2 (ISO VG220) grease. On the V6000, replace the grease every 5000 hours; oil-lubricated V6000s keep oil 60 mm below the shaft centreline, with an oil change every 12 months (ISO VG 46–68 compressor oil).
- Periodic inspection: For the V2000 series, Ebsray recommends a maximum interval of three months or 500 hours – check for leaks, vibration, noise, overheating, coupling wear and pump differential pressure.
- Vane wear limits: Minimum worn vane size is 74.62 mm long by 27.00 mm high for the V2000 and 89.62 mm by 28.00 mm for the V3000/V3010. The V6000 minimum worn vane height is 60 mm. Replace pushrods that are mushroomed, scored or bent.
- Bearing replacement: Ball bearing replacement should not go beyond 10,000 operational hours (V2000) or 5,000 hours (V3000/V3010). Replace V6000 roller bearings on major overhauls.
- Seals, wearplates and fasteners: Replace the mechanical seal assembly if worn, and replace all O-rings and lip or oil seals at every overhaul. V6000 wearplates can be replaced or reversed (swapped end to end so the relief grooves stay on the discharge side). Lockwashers must not be reused.

Troubleshooting
Pump locked up and will not turn
Likely cause: Foreign matter in the pump, broken vanes or pushrods, or seized ball bearings. Action: Clean out the pump and check the suction strainer, then replace the vanes, pushrods or ball bearings as needed.
No delivery with the pump running
Likely cause: Closed valves, an empty supply tank, wrong rotation, a blocked or air-leaking strainer, high static discharge pressure, inadequate NPSHa or vapour lock. Action: Open the valves, fill the tank, correct the rotation, clean the strainer, increase NPSHa and clear vapour so the pump can prime.
Reduced output
Likely cause: Incorrect driver speed, restrictive inlet or discharge piping or hose, a bypass or relief valve set too low, jammed vanes, or worn parts. Action: Correct the speed, remove restrictions and reset the valve (without exceeding system design pressure or driver capability), then replace the vanes or recondition the pump.
Mechanical seal or casing leakage
Likely cause: Wrongly fitted seals, dry running, cracked or pitted seal faces, damaged O-rings or O-rings unsuited to the pumpage, a worn shaft in the seal zone, loose fasteners or trapped thermal expansion. Action: Inspect and replace the seal assembly, fit O-rings of a suitable material, tighten to torque and remove any hydraulic lock potential.
